Pixalate Case Study

About the project

A successful and fast-growing US technology business with offices in LA, New York and San Francisco engaged with EllisKnight International Recruitment to support their plans to open a new office in London as their EMEA European Head Office. This office would include teams that would cover Technical, Sales, Customer Success, Marketing and Operations.

EllisKnight were tasked with presenting information about the UK employment market, salary benchmarking, competitor analysis and building a pipeline of the best talent around with the right sector experience.

Challenge

The challenges with this project are all around communication:

  • Being able to discuss the project requirements in detail with the Hiring Managers.
  • Working across different time zones.
  • Sharing information and updates.
  • Skills testing.
  • Presenting candidates in the best possible light.

Solution

EllisKnight used technology to manage this project effectively, including:

  • Google Hangouts for update calls with Hiring Managers.
  • Live Google Sheets to share live updates on each project.
  • Remote skills testing.
  • Hinterview – video interviews added to Applicant Tracking System (ATS) for the client to review in their own time.

Results

By using technology, EllisKnight were successful in introducing candidates without the need for Hiring Managers in the US meeting with candidates face-to-face; saving time and money.

Testimonial

"I applied to a role in London that is with a US technology company and the Hiring Manager is based in LA, California. The interview process included a video interview with a Recruiter, online technical tests and then a detailed technical interview with the CTO in America using Google Hangouts – I am now working from home until the new London office is ready"

Challenge

  1. Snap-On Business Solutions have their European Head Office in Reading and for a quite a while they only had interim staff in HR, which made it difficult to shape a clear people strategy for the business.
  2. HR was also responsible for all of the recruitment across all departments, together with providing HR support to everyone, which is a to manage.
  3. Snap-On was also keen to raise their profile as a fast-growing business with a big head office in Reading, highlighting the exciting employment opportunities available locally, rather than having to travel into London for example.
  4. The business had engaged with a number of recruitment agencies in the past, all charging different rates and with inconsistent results.

Solution

  •  We placed a new HR Manager onsite to help develop the people strategy and improve internal HR processes, policies, systems and improve employee engagement.
  • The HR Manager invited us to present our ideas on how they could outsource all of their recruitment requirements to us, so save time, save money and improve the quality of candidates they have available.

Results

  • We worked with HR to design a new slick recruitment process for all candidates, including internal candidates and referrals.
  • We wrote new simple recruitment process guides for Hiring Managers to follow, presented the solution to the senior management team on-site to implement the new process and agreed upon SLA's and a robust review process.
  • We appointed a dedicated recruitment team, increased marketing and advertising to raise their employer branding, introduced a leading Applicant Tracking System, video interviewing technology, market mapping, salary benchmarking and meaningful weekly Management Information.
  • This solution has saved valuable time of Hiring Managers and HR, reduced the time to hire, improved the candidate journey, provided important market information analysis and within the first 12 months saved the business just under £100,000 on their recruitment spend.
