At EllisKnight International Recruitment, we know this is a particularly challenging, difficult and uncertain time for all businesses.

In that line, we are offering a new temporary payment scheme: "Recruit NOW, pay LATER". This payment method will apply for any new client that engages with EllisKnight between 26/03/2020 and 31/07/20.

When do I have to pay?

Receive 90 days payment terms.

What's the recruitment process?

We will book a video call (Zoom/Google Hangout/Skype) with the hiring manager to ensure we understand the company requirements.

The directors will create a bespoke price for the services and a digital contract.

You'll be assigned a specialised recruitment consultant who will be in charge of your recruitment needs. Our recruiters always make sure they understand the company culture, job description and ideal candidate profile to send you the best talent options available.

We use the latest recruitment technology to ensure we contact top talent with the skills required:

 EK Recruitment Technology

For the shortlisted candidates, we will send you a video interview alongside their CV's.

To make this possible, we partnered with HINTERVIEW, video recruitment software, that includes an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) where you can:

• Preview candidates in a list.
• Watch the video interview with the recruitment consultant.
• Accept or reject a pull of candidates at the same time.
• Set as many questions you want, that are relevant for the position.

Once you select your favourite candidates, we will arrange for you the second interview via video call (Zoom/Google Hangout/Skype).

About the project

A successful and fast-growing US technology business with offices in LA, New York and San Francisco engaged with EllisKnight International Recruitment to support their plans to open a new office in London as their EMEA European Head Office. This office would include teams that would cover Technical, Sales, Customer Success, Marketing and Operations.

EllisKnight were tasked with presenting information about the UK employment market, salary benchmarking, competitor analysis and building a pipeline of the best talent around with the right sector experience.

Challenge

The challenges with this project are all around communication:

  • Being able to discuss the project requirements in detail with the Hiring Managers.
  • Working across different time zones.
  • Sharing information and updates.
  • Skills testing.
  • Presenting candidates in the best possible light.

Solution

EllisKnight used technology to manage this project effectively, including:

  • Google Hangouts for update calls with Hiring Managers.
  • Live Google Sheets to share live updates on each project.
  • Remote skills testing.
  • Hinterview – video interviews added to Applicant Tracking System (ATS) for the client to review in their own time.

Results

By using technology, EllisKnight were successful in introducing candidates without the need for Hiring Managers in the US meeting with candidates face-to-face; saving time and money.

Testimonial

"I applied to a role in London that is with a US technology company and the Hiring Manager is based in LA, California. The interview process included a video interview with a Recruiter, online technical tests and then a detailed technical interview with the CTO in America using Google Hangouts – I am now working from home until the new London office is ready"

As coronavirus health concerns continue to grow; we want to let you know our recruitment services continue to operate normally.

We are embracing the digital transformation in every stage of our recruitment process, one of the main steps consists of the first interview powered by the Hinterview platform; this allows us to showcase our candidates through the creation of high-quality videos.

How does video-interview work on EllisKnight International Recruitment workflow?

Video provides a unique opportunity to break the ice in first-time correspondence by injecting personality into candidate introductions. Our consultants aim to make sure the recruitment process is as high-quality and as agile as possible to meet the candidates, and client needs.

The EllisKnight recruitment process consists of five steps:

1. Phone call: Get to know you.
2. Information email.
3. Hinterview - Video interview with EK recruiter.
4. Interview with the company. This step usually is face to face; however, this will be held via video call. During this stage, we will send you an email with detailed instructions of how you will connect with the employer.
5. Feedback.

Please read more details about our recruitment method here.

Candidates are the most precious resource in today's competitive recruitment landscape. According to the Global Recruitment Insights and Data (GRID) site, the top priorities the industry will be focusing on 2020 are:

  • Talent acquisition and engagement. "Candidate acquisition and candidate engagement are not valued in equal measure. Compared to the 43 per cent of firms who will prioritise acquisition in 2020, just 27 per cent will afford that same attention to candidate engagement and the candidate experience".

  • Client relationship management. "In a people-centric industry like recruitment, it should come as no surprise that improving client relationships is a top priority for most recruitment agencies".

  • Embracing digital transformation. "While some firms have already adopted some automation and AI-influenced technology to run their businesses, most agencies have yet to make this leap wholesale. The findings reveal a significant variance in the interest level in digital transformation depending on company size and role".

At EllisKnight, we've been developing a comprehensive strategy to grow and thrive from the core: Candidate Care Team Programme.

We want to make the difference within the industry; investing time and resources to create a continuous bridge of communication between the candidates and the agency.

How do EllisKnight Candidate Care Team works?

After some research, we realise people are getting overwhelmed with the number of emails, calls and push notifications they receive every day from apps, online stores, between others.

Therefore, we created a bespoke communication workflow, where the candidates receive a series of calls and emails, as well as the option of opt-out of the communication altogether if they wish so:

  • The first day at their new job, their recruitment consultant will give them a call, to have a chat about how their day was and to let them know that the Candidate Care Team (CCT) will be in touch soon.

  • The CCT will release a series of 9 automated messages to follow up their first six months of employment with their companies.

Making the difference

Even though we use automated emails, the candidates are free to reply anytime, a member of our Candidate Care Team will answer or give them a call directly to follow up with their enquiry.

On every stage of the CCT programme, we encourage our candidates to call or send us an email, even if it's to say "hi", as we want to be a support channel and help them settle in their new position. Additionally, our candidates can choose the way they want us to reach them: by email, phone calls or mobile messages.

Finally, we continuously review and update the content of each one of the emails in the workflow, as we want to make sure the candidates receive relevant and helpful information.

When you start a new job, everything seems new and exciting. However, after working at the same place for a while, how do you keep yourself happy and motivated?

It's a fact that at some point, along with the usual challenges, there is going to be certain factors that may stress you out. It could be a conflictive relationship with colleagues, a dysfunctional relationship with your direct manager, long term exposure to stress related to work, to name just a few.

The way we resolve conflicts and manage stress at the workplace can make a difference. However, "happiness" is a subjective concept and hard to define as every person stamps a different meaning to it.

There are many studies related to happiness at work. Yet, three factors are mention frequently:

Relationships. Harvard Business Review released a study that states the key to happiness at work is investing more in relationships. "People whose work is mundane or demanding are just as likely to feel satisfied and fulfilled as those with fun or inspiring jobs if they proactively invest in relationships that nourish them and create a sense of purpose."

Job satisfaction. Other studies appoint that typically "happiness" occurs when there is job satisfaction, rather than psychological well-being.

Engagement. Annie McKee, co-author of the bestselling Primal Leadership. In her book, she mentions that happiness is about the full engagement that comes with it: individual, team, and organizational success, as well as a sense of purpose and the chance to contribute to something bigger than themselves.

As a recruitment company, we take our candidates satisfaction seriously; that is why our recruiters review each CV, cover letter, information call and video interview carefully.

Challenge

  1. Snap-On Business Solutions have their European Head Office in Reading and for a quite a while they only had interim staff in HR, which made it difficult to shape a clear people strategy for the business.
  2. HR was also responsible for all of the recruitment across all departments, together with providing HR support to everyone, which is a to manage.
  3. Snap-On was also keen to raise their profile as a fast-growing business with a big head office in Reading, highlighting the exciting employment opportunities available locally, rather than having to travel into London for example.
  4. The business had engaged with a number of recruitment agencies in the past, all charging different rates and with inconsistent results.

Solution

  •  We placed a new HR Manager onsite to help develop the people strategy and improve internal HR processes, policies, systems and improve employee engagement.
  • The HR Manager invited us to present our ideas on how they could outsource all of their recruitment requirements to us, so save time, save money and improve the quality of candidates they have available.

Results

  • We worked with HR to design a new slick recruitment process for all candidates, including internal candidates and referrals.
  • We wrote new simple recruitment process guides for Hiring Managers to follow, presented the solution to the senior management team on-site to implement the new process and agreed upon SLA's and a robust review process.
  • We appointed a dedicated recruitment team, increased marketing and advertising to raise their employer branding, introduced a leading Applicant Tracking System, video interviewing technology, market mapping, salary benchmarking and meaningful weekly Management Information.
  • This solution has saved valuable time of Hiring Managers and HR, reduced the time to hire, improved the candidate journey, provided important market information analysis and within the first 12 months saved the business just under £100,000 on their recruitment spend.

Over the last few years, the recruitment industry has been transforming and adapting to technological advancements and the rise of digital platforms.

The challenge for recruitment agencies is exploring new ways to not just improve the hiring process for our clients but to create a positive and insightful experience for the candidates. Video interviews are generating that opportunity to use technology to engage both parties: jobseekers and employers.

If you have a video interview booked or you are just curious about how it works, our top tips can help you:

1. Some applicants refuse when they are asked to do a video interview.
Always say, yes! Video interviews bring your CV to life. Often, employers prefer to choose one applicant from another because of their personality.

2. "Video interviews make me feel even more nervous than a traditional one". Stepping out of your comfort zone speaks well of you. Your recruitment consultant will guide you through the interview before recording it, so when you start, you feel a hundred per cent comfortable.

3. No need for rehearsing, just be yourself. If it helps, have on hand your CV to guide yourself through your experience; however, let your personality shine and the conversation flow.

4. Sometimes, the Head Office team of a company will want to get to know you, even though you will be working for a branch. A video interview is used in these cases to save the applicant both time and money by cutting the need for travel.

5. No access to a computer at that moment? No stress, most of the recruitment resourcers provide you with a link which can be accessed on any device, including a smartphone or tablet.

6. Finally, but not less important, dress smart. No matter the format of the interview always dress to impress, don't forget that your potential employer will see the video.

EllisKnight International partnered with Hinterview, to create an interactive and creative way to showcase high-quality videos of skilled candidates. We tailor client-relevant questions that are specific to the position applied for, meaning you can be sure that we will guide you through the interview, giving you the best chance of success.
