EK Giving Pledge
As an ethical recruiter and a positive industry disruptor, here is our promise.
- We will donate 5% of our time pro bono in support of society and the environment. During 2020 this was actioned through our free recruitment services for all UK registered charities during the pandemic.
- We will make a percentage donation of every permanent invoice we receive to B1G1, a global business giving movement that supports over 500 outstanding impact projects. These projects range from providing books to schools in India and mosquito nets in Zambia to giving access to life-saving water in Ethiopia and farming tools and training in Malawi. We're proud to be a B1G1 Champion and will create a unique Impact Certificate for our client for every permanent placement made, showing that the organisations we partner with truly have a positive social and environmental impact on our planet. Check out our impacts to date against the UN SDGs.
- We will offset the carbon footprint of every permanent candidate we place for the first twelve months of their employment through Ecologi – planting trees and funding the world's best climate crisis solutions. That means we plant 144 trees and offset 14 tonnes of C02 for every person we have been able to successfully support their career to help create a climate positive workforce. Please take a look at our EK Forest.
- We will support Toilet Twinning to bring clean water and safe sanitation to the world's poorest people by twinning a client's toilet with a latrine in a developing country, every month.
- We will continue to rigorously assess the environmental impact of our business annually through The Planet Mark and publicly declare our carbon footprint to you. We pledge to make a minimum 5% reduction on that figure year on year, offsetting our entire reported carbon footprint through international carbon offsetting projects and maintain our certified Carbon Neutral status.
- We will produce an annual Impact Report (our first is due in March 2021) to report on everything we measure. Transparency is key and we have pledged to create a long-lasting positive impact for our people and our planet – that statement is in our Articles of Association so you know it's legally binding.
