Description


EllisKnight are working exclusively with a company near Winchester who are seeking a Bank Reconciliation Clerk on a Temporary basis for a six month position. Our client has a turnover in excess of £350 million pa the business process in excess of 80,000 cash transactions per month all of which need to be reconciled daily.
The client specialises in Wholesale, Distribution and the sale of goods via a national network of retail outlets. The client has free parking on site and are accessible via public transport, the is a really good work ethos where hard work is rewarded.
Responsabilities:

  • Reconciliation of your assigned bank account(s) daily, ensuring all banking have been accurately recorded, taking remedial action to address any identified issues.
  • Ensure debit / credit card transactions reconcile to the amounts received from the merchant, taking remedial action to address any identified issues.
  • Deal with all rejected card transactions, providing timely responses and appropriate information to the banks to challenge the rejection.
  • Production of a weekly banking report showing banking performance for all business units
  • Processing journals to account for cash from till transactions, ensuring appropriate documentation is obtained to support the transaction, including VAT recovery where appropriate.
  • Providing technical advice to the business on banking related queries and issues.
  • Monitoring and reporting on till differences arising from banking discrepancies.
  • Custodian for the company credit card, making payment for authorised transactions, reconciling the monthly statement ad processing the entries through the accounts.
  • Provide cover for other members of the team as appropriate.
  • Other duties as are within the scope and spirit of the job and the title of the position that may arise from time to time or as required by management.
