EllisKnight are working exclusively with a company near Winchester who are seeking a Cash and Banking Manager on a permanent basis. Our client has a turnover in excess of £350 million pa the business process in excess of 80,000 cash transactions per month all of which need to be reconciled daily.
The client specialises in Wholesale, Distribution and the sale of goods via a national network of retail outlets. The client has free parking on site and are accessible via public transport, the is a really good work ethos where hard work is rewarded.
About the vacancy- The Banking team has three heads reporting into this vacancy and the successful candidate will manage them in full.
- Ensure all bank accounts and card transactions are fully processed and reconciled daily, identifying any problems and taking remedial action as necessary.
- Investigate any banking discrepancies and liaise with colleagues to resolve any underlying issues with process, procedure, or understanding.
- Ensure banking procedures are applied consistently across the business.
- Deal with all rejected card transactions, providing timely responses and appropriate information to the banks to challenge the rejection.
- Weekly reporting on the timeliness and accuracy of banking's made by the Retail and Wholesale divisions.
- Ensure the timely reporting of the daily cash position and rolling 3-month forecast.
- Incorporate bank accounts from new subsidiaries into the company's accounting processes, including set-up, mandate changes, reconciliation and subsequent closure of accounts as appropriate.
- Ordering credit card machines for new acquisitions and ensuring availability and delivery to sites.
- Ensure bank payments are set up on a timely basis.
- Work with relevant parties to achieve and subsequently maintain PCI DSS compliance.
- Implementation of new processes and procedures within the Treasury function, including the review and improvement of how the current ERP system integrates with the Retail EPOS system.
- User Acceptance Testing of ERP upgrades.
- Provide cover for other members of the team as appropriate.
