Description

Temporary Property Manager (or Assistant Property Manager)
Contract Length: Approx. 2 months
Start Date: 5th January
Pay: Up to £21.65 per hour
Location: Oxford
Core Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm

A great short-term opportunity has arisen for an experienced Property Manager, or a strong Assistant Property Manager ready to step up, to take responsibility for a student residential property in Oxford. This temporary role is ideal for someone confident, organised, and capable of stepping into a managerial position with minimal handover.

We are seeking someone with demonstrable property management experience, able to lead a small team, oversee day-to-day operations, and maintain a high-quality living environment for students.

Due to the location, the successful candidate will ideally be able to drive and have access to a car.

About the Role

You will take operational responsibility for the management, maintenance, and performance of a property comprising around 370 student beds. Working with a small on-site team, including six Student Ambassadors, you will ensure a smooth running of the building, a positive resident experience, and prompt resolution of issues.

This role blends property management, team coordination, resident engagement, and operational oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the property to a high standard

  • Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues quickly and effectively

  • Ensure full compliance with building health & safety regulations

  • Maintain positive relationships with tenants and support student welfare

  • Provide clear and accurate management updates and reports

  • Oversee change-of-tenancy processes and support annual cycles of work

  • Lead and support Student Ambassadors, fostering a safe and engaged community

  • Conduct regular inspections and occasional visits to nearby properties to share best practice

Requirements

  • Proven managerial experience within property management (essential for this temporary cover role)

  • Experience managing or supporting a team

  • Background in property management and/or hospitality (PBSA experience advantageous)

  • Practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving

  • Strong IT and reporting skills

  • Sales or basic marketing experience, ideally in education or student settings

  • Local to Oxford (within approx. 45 minutes)

  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
