Description

Property Credit Controller
Based in Reading Town Centre | Salary up to £30k

Are you an experienced finance professional looking to grow your career in an expanding business? We are seeking a Property Credit Controller to join our clients team in the heart of Reading. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational and communication skills who is looking for a role with real potential for growth and progression.

As a Property Credit Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of our property portfolio. You will be responsible for managing tenant rent charges, arrears, aged debt, and supplier accounts, while also supporting the Property Accountant with day-to-day financial tasks. You will work closely with the property management team and other stakeholders to ensure accurate financial management and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the rent arrears process: liaising with tenants, sending arrears letters, and escalating cases where required.

  • Oversee aged debt recovery, including engagement with external debt recovery companies.

  • Review and approve utility payments, estate charges, and supplier invoices.

  • Maintain credit control for external supplier accounts and ensure accounts remain up to date.

  • Raise and verify purchase orders to ensure costs are correctly categorised.

  • Provide regular reports on arrears and aged debt, as well as bespoke financial reports as needed.

  • Support the Property Accountant and wider team with financial operations and ad-hoc tasks.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years’ accounting experience, ideally in property or real estate.

  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency across Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience with Yardi software is advantageous.

  • Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • A proactive and adaptable approach to work.

What We Offer

  • A prime location in Reading town centre, directly opposite the train station.

  • Excellent career progression opportunities in a growing business.

  • A supportive and collaborative team culture.

  • A varied role where your contribution makes a real impact.

If you are organised, detail-oriented, and eager to take the next step in your finance career, we would love to hear from you.
