Disrupt Agency are hiring for an Android Developer. The Android Developer role (Android & Firebase experience) will be organized and self motivated working for an amazing team that genuinely saves lives! The Android Developer will operate in a hybrid/remote environment (meeting once per month as a team in the office) to re-develop and drive continuous improvement to the Android product. Looking for an android Developer with a strong knowledge/understanding of Android technology with the ability to problem solve and stay at the forefront of the Android technology.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES of the Android Developer

1. To redevelop and maintain our android application. In particular ensuring the application can run and communicate with our servers 24/7, even when the phone is asleep/locked.

2. To communicate effectively with internal colleagues (and potentially external professionals) as required, ensuring effective service delivery and resolving any issues as they arise.

3. To meet sector security standards and regulations whilst completing works and take responsibility for this in the platform.

4. Deal with application support problems effectively by logging, investigating and fixing in a timely manner, and maintaining effective communications throughout.

REQUIREMENTS of the Android developer

• • The individual will have a high level of ability through hands on commercial experience of Android (version 9+).

  • Knowledge of Git / version control.

  • Experience with Google Firebase.

  • Good understanding of security principles and relevant regulations.

  • Able to work independently, problem solve and resolve issues as they arise.

  • Able to work collaboratively within a small remote development team.

  • Offer flexibility of working structure to support key releases/go-live events and be available to meet as a team once or twice each month at their offices (Midlands based)

  • Accurate recording and reporting skills and ability to communicate ideas effectively.

  • Be able to respond promptly to unexpected issues and ensure the smooth running of the application.

Nice to have additional skills for Android developer (not essential)

• • UX / UI design experience

  • Up to date with changing/new Android technologies (i.e., Kotlin, Coroutines, Compose)

  • Experience of smartwatch application development
