Trainee Service Engineer

Ellis Knight are working with a fantastic fast growing, well established Health & Safety distribution company. A role has become available for a Trainee Service Engineer, which will involve primarily working on faultfinding, servicing, repairs and the calibration of environmental monitoring instruments.

The person appointed in this role will be part of a small team carrying out work to Manufacturers specifications; this requires high levels of attention to detail and the ability to read complex instructions. This position is ideal for someone wishing to be developed within a fast-paced and technical environment.

This is a full-time position and working hours are Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4:30pm and Friday 8:00am to 3:30pm.

The Role will report to the Customer Support Manager and will involve the following:

• Fault finding on customers instruments
• Service of customers instruments to the manufacturers standard
• Calibration of both customers and in house instruments to manufacturer's standards
• Prepare service call paperwork - using both SAP and Excel
• Attend manufacturers training when required
• Working closely with the current in house engineers on improvement processes
• Carrying out PAT testing as and when required
• Corresponding with customers via email or telephone regarding the Calibration / servicing of their instruments
• Propose and Implement Quality improvement tasks with support from the Operations Manager Carrying out additional duties as and when required

This role is brilliant for somebody who would like a full time position but would rather be active than office based.
