Disrupt Agency are currently working with this globally recognised Charity that is seeking a talented Head of IT Security/ Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to join their organisation as they drive greater IT Security standards, processes and workflows to protect their organisation, data and employees every day.
This Head of IT Security / Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) opportunity is a newly created position that will work closely with the CTO across their Technology landscape to embed IT risk management, information security and cyber security excellence across all areas of business and IT risk.
Key requirements will include:
- Defining the vision, setting and implementing the strategy for IT risk management, information security and cyber security, within the UK & Ireland (UKI) Territory.
- Leading on the understanding of emerging security trends, risks, guidelines , technologies and applicable laws, regulations, and contractual requirements.
- Responsible for all IT security risk and vulnerability identification and assessment, and the resulting mitigating actions
- Driving organisational and behavioural change in relation to IT security, at all levels through embedding robust controls, education and collaboration
The Head of IT security/CISO will require a strong and engaging leadership style to engage/influence other senior leadership and Business Teams as well as engage and develop your own team (Currently circa 6 FTE’s).
The overall IT Department is currently circa 50 people supporting circa 6500 users over nearly 1000 locations.
You will recruit, build, guide and inspire a new security team to create a culture of excellence and collaboration that will flow into and across the organisation. This is a real opportunity to shape the IT Security function for an organisation that gives back to society in everything it does and stands for. As such we appreciate this role will appeal to senior experts within this space who are looking for an opportunity to embed their commercial, strategic and leadership skills within Information and Cyber security into a leading not for profit organisation .
Key requirements:
- Expert knowledge of cyber security frameworks and best practices
- Hold various formally recognised IT security/Information Security qualifications/certifications (CISSP, CISM, SIEM, NIST)
- Strong understanding and experience with ISO27001
- Up to date experience of managing. Mitigating and preventing cyber security threats (current and emerging)
- Good communication and collaboration skills in order to embed your cyber and information security expertise and drive ongoing education/improvements across employee base including senior/executive leadership.
- Must want to work for a charity/Not-for-profit business
