EllisKnight are working with a rapidly growing company in Abingdon, due to continued growth they are looking to recruit a Management Accountant on a permanent basis, the ideal candidate will be actively studying their CIMA or ACCA.
The company really believes in developing staff and have a target of 25% of staff are to progress their career internally each year. Last year this was 27% and it did not include sideways moves.
To support the growth of the successful candidate they offer a healthly study support package to enable you to qualify as an accountant.
About the company
Our client is a growing telecommunications business who are leading the way in rural communications. The business operates over four key regions and has a very established finance team of 11 in group finance. The business has a large level of capital invested in its projects and they are starting to see a health return on investment.
About the Management Accountant Vacancy
The position of Management Accountant would support a candidate who is studying their CIMA OR ACCA (international qualifications will be considered if they can be converted to ACCA OR CIMA). Ideally the candidate will have passed their Management level exams for CIMA or mid-way through their P levels for ACCA.
Your main duties for this role will be:
- Primary responsibility for the co-ordination and preparation of the monthly management accounts Prepare monthly revenue and deferred income journals, including IFRS15 adjustment
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and profit and loss analyses
- ONS statistic returns
- P&L Production
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Assisting with the preparation of Reporting Packs
- CIS deduction returns
- Complete monthly Group VAT return
- Any other ad-hoc duties as required
Qualifications
- Strong Excel skills (Pivot tables, Vlookups, etc)
- Proactive with a can-do attitude and a strong eye for detail and accuracy
- Inquisitive mind, able to identify questions to ask and find solutions to issues
- Good communication skills
- Ability to manage and prioritise competing tasks in a fast paced and busy environment
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude and a desire to learn
- Telecoms/infrastructure experience with Broadband focus desirable but not essential
- ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified or part-qualified studier
