Job Duties:
- Develop data models to ensure that the data objects provided are completely and accurately represented.
- Maintain functional roles, users, security groups, warehouses, and databases.
- Document application source system databases, data requirements, development of database objects and partnering with IT to promote objects and ETL processes to the production environment.
- Design and migrate existing relational databases into Snowflake environment.
- Write and modify complex SnowSQL queries, stored procedures, views, and triggers in addition to the development of other Snowflake database objects.
- Design, develop, test, implement and manage complex ETL/ELT processes from multiple sources
- Create and maintain documentation related to applications, data sources, and ETL movement within the Pubs data environment.
- Create and promote the use of data assets, including the management of data catalog for reference.
- Develop and execute test plans
- Setup of Snowflake and/or Google BigQuery environment from scratch
Job Requirements:
- B.S. in Information Systems or similar IT or Business field
- Expertise in multiple databases, data warehousing, database design and modeling with in-depth knowledge of Snowflake databases, Schema and Table structures
- Significant hands-on experience building and working with data warehouses, lakes, marts, pipelines, and providing reporting or analytical services.
- Experience in SnowSQL and Snowpipe.
- Exposure to Time travel, Snow Tasks, and data movement between Snowflake and other RDMS
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS EC2, S3, Lambda or equivalent services from Azure or Google).
- Experience with or strong understanding of ETL/ELT and workflow tools like Pentaho, Talend etc.
- Experience with Python, Spark
- Experience with Agile and other software development methodologies.
- Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence and familiarity with Sprint and Kanban
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and customer service skills
Preferred but not required:
- Familiarity with dashboarding and visualization tools such as Qlik Sense, Tableau or Power BI
- Experience in machine learning/data science platforms and services like Snowpark, Sagemaker, Domino, TensorFlow, etc.
