Description

Great opportunity to join this Renewable energy and sustainability focused engineering consultancy. The role will require someone who is familiar with engineering surveys/engineers ideally with a sustainability / environmental or renewable energy background. The role will require excellent organisational, project management and influencing skills to coordinate and manage the timely collection of technical information/data . The study Manager will then articulate technical terms into simple to read/follow directions that will be used to create a workflow document of all activities and recommendations to ensure sites can deliver on their Net Zero strategy.


This position is ideally suited for someone who is able to manage their daily workloads in a flexible hybrid environment. You will need to have flexibility to travel and attend site visits across the southern counties and also to attend meetings at the office (south of Farnham/Guildford).


Study Manager Responsibilities & Tasks


The Study/Reporting Manager is responsible for the delivery of the study reports that arise from our step-by-step risk reduction process.


The essence of the Study Manager’s job is to manage the delivery process of multiple study projects and coordinate the packages of work produced by in-house staff, associate consultants, and engineers, to meet project deliverables to the satisfaction of our own high standards and exceeding client expectations within time and budget. Specific tasks will be set by the Senior Management Team but may include elements of:


· Stakeholder liaison and coordination.


· Coordinating with external design engineers, consultants, and surveyors to ensure that they produce their deliverables as per the agreed project deadlines


· Management of the work packages assigned to the different internal/external resources within the project team assigned to a study to ensure that the deliverables are met.


· Project Management. Management of the programme and budget whilst ensuring that the deliverables have the quality expected of us from our client. This will involve tracking and monitoring the project schedule


· Compiling of information required to deliver Decarbonisation Plans, Net Zero Strategies, Independent Power Generation Studies. This will involve the coordination of surveyors, consultants, engineers, and other key people to obtain relevant information that is used to develop engineering solutions.


· Internal project-related housekeeping such as correct online filing of all project documents.


· Preparation of final reports. The Study Manager will pull together all sections of the final reports based on engineering inputs and ensure that it is written clearly and in a way the client (Non-Engineering) will understand. We pride ourselves in explaining engineering issues in terms that clients can understand. The key to this task is the ability to communicate engineering concepts to the client in straightforward and clear way.

· Energetic and capable of operating on own initiative and driving events


· Excellent communications skills, with the ability to write clear and logical English


· Competent with IT and fully conversant with common packages included within Microsoft Office 365


· Experience in coordinating aspects of multiple engineering projects


· Problem solving ability, with accuracy and good team working skills


Desirable Qualities & Experience


· Has experience in a project delivery organisation where many different agendas and personalities must be coordinated to meet project deliverables


· Experience in working within the renewable engineering industry


· A recognised Project Management and/or a relevant engineering qualification would be desirable but not essential.
