EllisKnight are working exclusively with this well known Charity who are looking for a Head of Information Security & Technology. The role will suit someone who is looking for that opportunity to develop their career into a CTO/IT Director level role as this will give you exposure as the #1 IT leader role within this growing Charity.
They work in a hybrid way to maximise the value of team engagement and work delivery.
This is a real opportunity to shape and build a high performing function through having the autonomy to make and present commercial decisions.
Qualifications
Essential
- Degree in IT or related area OR at least five years in IT management delivering against recognised information security standards.
- Project management qualification such as PRINCE2, Agile or Six Sigma
Experience
Essential
- Managing technology & information security projects and services in an organisation of a similar size for five or more years, with responsibility for a range of databases and technology solutions from both technology and an information security perspective.
- Being part of a team leading an organisation through significant changes in technology.
- Experience of achieving Cyber Essentials.
- Experience of gaining accreditation or reaccreditation of ISO 27001 and managing an ISMS.
- Experience of managing and leading a high performing team.
- Setting, managing and delivering against targets and budgets.
Desirable
- Transitioning an organisation to cloud based infrastructure such as Microsoft Azure/ O365/ SharePoint
- Contract management of an MSP with an out-sourced helpdesk.
- Certified ISO27001 practitioner
Skills and abilities
Essential
- Proven ability to implement new legislation or standards where this relates to Technology and/ or Information security.
- Comprehensive understanding of Information Security Frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials) and UK Data Protection Act 2018 including GDPR.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to a range of audiences in an easily understood way.
- Ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders, both internally (e.g. staff and trustees) and externally (e.g. MSPs and other third party providers) to the organisation representing the interests of the organisation.
- Ability to manage a large and fluctuating workload, working to agreed targets and strict deadlines with a pragmatic approach towards achievement of goals and resolution of problems
- Ability to work pro-actively to achieve efficiency and effectiveness of a team of staff
- Strong team player with good interpersonal skills.
- Strong decision making, problem-solving skills and analytical skills in order to assess complex situations and translate these into organisational plans and priorities.
