Our client is an amazing internationally recognised values driven organisation seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a full time hybrid position, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm, with the flexibility to choose the days you wish to work from their stunning offices in Oxfordshire.
This interesting and varied role will cover the following key responsibilities:
- Lead the Logistics function, ensuring the client is working with the best partners and have the smoothest transport and warehousing operations in place.
- Support and guide the logistics team, have the can-do attitude to get stuck in and help the team hands-on when necessary
- Ensure clear, relevant and timely communication to all stakeholders
- Ensure excellent relationships are in place with retailers to deliver a great customer service Make sure we have the slickest logistics solution for transporting our goods from manufacturing sites all over Europe to our three warehouses and out to the customers, including the right commercial agreements.
- Oversee the Logistics budget carefully highlighting changes and opportunities for savings
- Oversee finished goods waste management
- Oversee processes to resolve and mitigate waste risks by working with the sales and planning teams
- Co-Ordinate monthly financial reporting and warehouse inventory management
- Support the team by ensuring grow me plans are in place, star talent is nurtured and take the right approach with misaligned talent.
- Create strategies and key performance indicators to encourage autonomy, team growth, performance, and ‘thinking differently’ within the team.
- Encourage the partners and the team to drive cost savings, look for simpler solutions and identifying continuous improvements across the supply chain
- Ensure the team can handle the logistical challenges of new product development launches on time and to specification, which includes transit trials, setup of news SKUs, and specifications
Skills, qualities and experience required:
- A strong understanding of, and experience in, logistics, transport, warehousing, planning and forecasting, supplier contracts, negotiation and SLA agreements
- Have solid experience of FMCG logistics and managing 3PLs
- Experience in implementing, and managing supplier performance against SLAs and KPIs
- Have fantastic relationship building and leadership skills
- Think ahead of time and make space for others to do the same
- Have a result focussed mind-set and find solutions to challenges
- Be a strong communicator
