Great opportunity for a Sales Engineer /Field Sales engineer or Refrigeration/Cooling/Chiller Systems Engineer with strong client facing ability to join this growing engineering business based in the South of the UK.


 


Due to continued growth they are seeking to hire a field sales engineer to service existing clients and open/develop new business opportunities across the UK (mainly across the South and South West regions.)


 


The field engineer role will suit either an experienced chiller/cooling systems engineer who is looking for a bigger and better career opportunity. Our client has a clearly defined Vision and growth plan over the coming years which will offer employees excellent training and development opportunities.


 


The Role


Reporting to the Head of Sales (Director), the Sales Engineer will be responsible for proposing technical solutions to address specific customer needs, generate sales leads and manage the process from initial enquiry to placement of order as well as maintaining existing customer relationships and developing new customers within your region. This role is primarily field based and requires extensive travel across the region.  This travel could include the odd overnight stay (depending on client location) which will be fully expensed including all travel (mileage) costs.


Key elements of the role include-


  • Ascertaining customer requirements and consulting on the best solutions.
  • Conducting site surveys to understand the scope and solution
  • Regular client interaction and engagement to build relationship and trust
  • Ownership for sales budget within your region
  • Develop new and existing customers for your region
  • Meet and exceed sales targets as set by the Commercial Director.
  • Manage / update the CRM system with all customer information.
  • Working with the Commercial Director ensuring that all quotations and proposals are fit for purpose and meet commercial and profit targets 
  • Forecasting orders and sales projection for the rolling quarter
  • Keeping abreast on changes in technology, products, competitors’ activity, and market trends.
  • Attend departmental review meetings, as necessary.

Requirements:


  • 2+ years’ experience of chilled water systems and technical knowledge of industrial cooling system design
  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering / Refrigeration or qualified by experience.
  • Experience in planning, developing, and executing multiple projects
  • Ability to develop partner relationships with clients, interpreting, and understanding their requirements and provide the best solution for the client.
  • Numerate with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Full driver’s licence

Must haves


  • Full drivers licence valid in the UK and a vehicle
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills
  • Good grasp of engineering and technical terminology relating to cooling/chiller/refrigeration systems and design.
