IT Project Manager


This is a senior Technology (SDLC) focused Project Manager position supporting a major US based client. The Project Manager will work UK Hours predominantly but will need to have some flexibility during the working week to attend meetings later into the evening (EST hours). Typically these can be anything from 2-3 times per week working up until 21:30/22:00. There is flexibility to start later on these days or the following day to ensure you balance your working hours and you are only required to jump on the meetings if they are required.


 


The Project Manager role is a UK remote position and requires the successful Project Manager to be living in and paid within the UK. The company has a UK based office so there is an opportunity to visit that when needed for company meetings. UK based. It will be working for a Global technology business that aims to transform how humans and computers collaborate to create, publish and consume content.


 


The Project Manager can work from any UK location and will have regular support and team engagement/interaction from both US and UK based team members. leadership and clients.


 


Approach and Scope


In this role you will be primarily responsible for managing software development projects, utilising and adhering to Project Management best practices and established department policies, and ensuring successful completion of projects.


 


The Project Manager oversees all projects to provide project management support to the Department. The incumbent communicates with customers on an ongoing basis to review project requests, assess project scope, facilitate project prioritization, solidify project requirements, provide status updates, and plan, schedule and coordinate project tasks and deliverables.


 


The Project Manager utilizes formal project management techniques to lead project teams through the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The incumbent also utilises negotiation skills to establish cost-effective contracts with solution providers as needed.


 


Work to be Performed


• Serve as Project Manager, utilizing and adhering to Project Management best practices and established department policies.


• Ensure development and distribution of quality project-related documentation to all interested parties, including project plan and schedule, project charter, communications plan, requirements document, design document, deployment plan, test plan, maintenance transition plan, and notification of project end.


• Scope and allocate resources for assigned projects based on historical information, input from other staff, and general understanding of project tasks


 


Education/Experience/Technological Knowledge


• Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, may have an advanced degree


• 10 years+ experience as a Snr IT Project Manager.


• Project Management Certifications such as PMP, APM, CPM etc are desirable.


• Strong experience of delivering Projects with a large Data focus


• Good knowledge of SDLC, process modelling, UML.


• Strong communication skills to manage projects with complex global businesses. (Facing off with US)
