Snr Town Planner /Town Planning / Planning & Consents Consultant
Hybrid role (1 day/week Milton Keynes, 4 days/week WFH)
EllisKnight are recruiting a Town Planner / Town Planning Consultant for a joint-venture consortium of leading experts in the sustainable design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks.
The Town Planner / Town Planning /Planning & Consents Consultant will assist in the delivery and progress of civil engineering works across a major section of HS2; the new high speed rail link.
We specifically seek somebody with experience within Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIP) and a thorough understanding of the legislative requirements required under the HS2 Act or similar Act of Parliament, such as the Crossrail Act.
You are to be responsible for evaluating consents and engagement requirements under the HS2 Act and the associated Environmental Minimum Requirements to ensure the successful deployment of a cost effective and sustainable solution to our client.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Promotion and delivery of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects through primary legislation
· Planning and consenting legislation
· Statutory planning policy advice and appraisal
· Strategic management of consents deliverables
· Consents application preparation
· Collaborative and cross disciplinary working
· Delivery of technical engagement programmes for stakeholders including local authorities, statutory and non-statutory bodies and the general public
· Stakeholder facilitation, negotiation and mediation
· Project management and co-ordination of large, multi-disciplinary teams
Person profile:
· Senior knowledge of delivering projects through the Town & Country Planning Act legislation
· Prior experience of delivering a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project through primary legislation
· Knowledge of other consenting regimes including Development Consent Orders and Transport and Works Act Orders
· Suitably qualified and member of Professional Body (MRTPI)
· Up to date with latest developments in Professional Competence
