SQL Developer

SQL Developer required to join a great team working initially to migrate data from several systems into our new property management system.

Following successful migration, your role will encompass identifying new technologies and working with the new system to integrate and enhance our technology offering to offer better internal efficiencies and savings and give our customers the best user experience when they book through us.

Key tasks:

• Work with the IT Project team migrate existing data
• Work with the project team to improve existing processes and use new features of the system to improve on existing processes.
• Work closely with the PMS supplier project team to identify issues and solutions.
• Identify and evaluate new technologies
• Work with the IT Director to implement new projects and technologies
• Drive through change to take advantage of new product features.
• Identify new uses and better processes to help drive efficiencies
• Deliver work on time ensuring quality standards are met
• Help develop training for existing and new staff members
• Mentor and enhance the knowledge of other department members.
• Highlight potential risks or malfunctions and act proactively to resolve issue

Key knowledge and skills

• SQL Developer skills
• Competent user of SQL Management Studio
• Be able to interrogate, extract, manipulate and merge data from several proprietary SQL databases for the purpose of a data migration using TSQL scripts (Stored Procedures, Functions and Views).

Scripting skills:

• Experience using a general-purpose scripting language (e.g. PowerShell, VBScript, JavaScript, Python) to automated data migration tasks and manage the transfer and manipulation of static files.

Other useful skills but not essential for data migration

• ASP.Net C# Modify and extend a web-based data archive viewer written in ASP.Net C# MVC

• Experience of the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
• SQL SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Microsoft technologies e.g. Microsoft 365, Azure AD and some Azure would be desirable
