We have an exciting opportunity to join our client based in Reading as a Buying Admin Assistant and contribute to the growth and success of a highly dynamic online retail company - the UK's largest online garden specialist! If a career in buying/purchasing is what you're looking for, this position is an ideal first step onto the buying pathway.
We are looking for a good all-rounder to;
- Raise & send purchase orders
- Liaise with the UK supplier base, daily
- Check delivery notes from our warehouse
- Manage invoice queries from suppliers
- Contact suppliers about issues or new ranges
- Online page checking
- Liaise with our in-house Customer Services team
- Assist buyers on any new ranges/products documentation
- Market research reports (understanding the competition)
These are just some of the tasks of the day job and a keen eye for detail and using your initiative is a must. You will be the face of the team to the suppliers for day to day contact.
Multitasking will be a key strength with a diverse range of tasks being set across stock ordering. Timely delivery of tasks will be vital in ensuring key dates are adhered to. A cool head and the ability to cope with multi-tasking and to just get on and do it is also essential, as is maintaining a good sense of humour.
Necessary:
- Good knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets
- Strong communication skills
- Good phone manner
- Must be computer literate
- Be able to demonstrate accurate writing skills with a methodical approach
- Be able to work independently as well as part of a team (the job is yours to own)
