Assistant Accountant

Our client based in Oxford are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their expanding team. This role is to be the assistant accountant contact for onboarding new sites. The role will therefore help lead in obtaining any information required, as well as coordinating data required for any new sites. This includes setting up new bank accounts, build a good relationships with all parties, and colleagues from other departments and maintain regular contact with other teams.

Responsibilities:

• Working with spreadsheets, sales and purchase ledgers and journals.
• Preparing statutory accounts.
• Calculating and checking to make sure payments, amounts and records are correct.
• Sorting out incoming and outgoing daily post and answering any queries.
• Managing petty cash transactions.
• Reconciling finance accounts and direct debits.
• Accrual and Prepayment Preparation
• Liaising with accounts payable to ensure that all invoices are correctly coded, accurately calculated, are in-line with budget and are properly authorized.

Knowledge and Skills

• Ideally studying towards ACCA/CIMA/ACA
