Description
The Operations Director will direct and manage the Operations activities of the organisation. This includes planning and overseeing policies, governance, and operational compliance. Leading all service delivery activities across our unique three-step process (Measure, Engage and Communicate) and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
This individual will inspire, motivate and empower others, building a high-performance culture leading and supporting transformational change in both business and culture. As a member of the Executive Team, the Operations Director will contribute to strategic development of the organisation to become a strong and valued partner. The successful candidate will be a strong, experienced leader of operations with a record of leading forward-facing operations and services.
The post holder will ensure that quality and compliance systems are robust, supportive of current activities and facilitate high quality delivery of services and support future growth across the business. The Operations Director will also have experience developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve maximum impact in support of the growth aspirations of the Chief Executive and Board.Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the service delivery operations of the organisation and make any necessary changes to meet business goals and projections.
- Manage and guide the Heads of Department sitting within Measure, Engage and Communicate areas of the business and ensure optimal performance within their teams
- Act as the company's main adviser on all issues relating to operational functions and keeping abreast of latest developments to ensure that the Company maintains its competitive position.
- Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organisational vision and operational strategy.
- Develop and translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organisation-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning.
- Liaising between the organisation and clients, for quality assurance purposes.
- Regularly reviewing operations to ensure they meet required standards and recommend changes where necessary.
- Promoting effective and clear internal and external communications.
- Measuring the efficiency of, and report on, operational performance and develop plans to improve relevant key performance indicators.
- Work with management to grow the business, formulate strategies and prepare any documents/reports needed for investment/growth.
Key Requirements:
- Experienced and skilled in operating within a quality management system.
- Knowledge and experience of working to ISO 9000 as a minimum, knowledge of ISO 17065 and ISO 17025 is advantageous.
- Experience of process improvements, transformation and customer added value.
- Experience in managing departments and managing and supporting managers of people.
- Knowledge and understanding of sustainability, particularly for business.
- Previous experience of owning and running the operations of an organisation that delivers services to other businesses.
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and experience in successful implementation of these.
- Experience in managing operations internationally would be advantageous.
This is a full-time position, working remotely from home with weekly team meetings in London to resume in mid-2021. Start date flexible.
