Business Analyst
We have an exciting new permanent vacancy with a fantastic, award winning business in Reading. You'll be joining a business that delivers fully managed secure ICT services to the UK's Defence and Security sectors and to other government departments which have complex and demanding security requirements.
This position will play a key role in the delivery of innovative, accreditable, cost efficient and profitable solutions which comply with HMG's security classification system. These solutions will often be hosted on the company's private cloud infrastructure.
The role encompasses the following key areas to meet the Company's agreed strategic objectives:- Design Support: Lead the gathering and documenting of project requirements.
- Testing support: Lead the development of requirements verification matrices and associated testing strategies to ensure that both functional and non-functional requirements are achieved.
- Stakeholder Management: Building and maintaining relationships with key internal and customer stakeholders.
The Business Analyst provides strategic business analysis services to the business. The focus of this position is to work closely with existing and potential customers to gain in-depth understanding of their processes, services, roadmap and the context in which their business operates. This role will be key to understanding and documenting the requirements/capabilities needed to provide business solutions.
The Business Analyst is also responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial and technological risks. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Responsibilities will include a full range of activities from leading small to mid-size BA projects to assisting other project managers on larger projects.
Responsibilities:- Lead the gathering, documenting, analysis and dissemination of requirements as part of small, medium and large projects of work.
- Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in information technology and apply this to the development, execution and improvement of action plans by providing advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices.
- Stay current with customer needs and strategies; utilising formal and informal written communication methods to communicate updates and findings; and facilitating project meetings and presentations to all types of diverse audiences.
- Lead or participate in multiple projects by completing and updating project documentation; ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones; following proper escalation paths; and managing customer and supplier relationships
- Identify, create and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design at a complex level; focusing on quality improvement and data management; ensuring data is reliable and valid; developing process improvements or re-engineering and recommending elimination; integrating new systems and processes with existing ones; and partnering with internal and external customers to ensure systems provided meet the long-term business strategies.
- Provide project level analysis - producing required project analysis documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, UAT plan)
- Collaborate closely with technical teams to implement the requirements, provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process
- Identify improvement opportunities (proactive and reactive) and ways to increase adoption and customer satisfaction.
- Ability to analyse and synthesize business requirements, including recognising patterns and conceptualizing processes
- Serve as a liaison between customers and SC+ to assist or gather business requirements needed for system modifications, enhancement and implementations
- Support the development and execution of test plans
Requirements:- Must have experience working on large scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business
- Good knowledge of project management, ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point, strong relationship building skills & communication skills
