Facilities Maintenance Operative
We are seeking a maintenance operative to work on a full time, permanent basis for a luxury student accommodation provider based in Manchester. You will be responsible for completing general maintenance checks as included below:

Salary: £20,100
The working hours will be: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.- Ensure that all visitors and residents receive a warm, friendly and informative welcome
- Basic Maintenance skills, Ability to change lightbulbs, fix leaks, clear blockages, painting and decorating and fixing any other basic issue.
- Along with the Manager, you will be the first point of contact and will be responsible for ensuring that all enquiries are responded to promptly and efficiently
- Assist with maintenance and facilities issues, coordinate with contractors responsible for reactive and PPM
- Manage the relationship with key contractors covering electrical and Plumbing
- Expand the contractors resources list
- Undertake room inspections and report any issues, also ensuring that health and safety regulations are being met
- Assist with room viewings and queries from potential tenants
- Complete recurring Health and fire safety tasks
- To keep accurate records
- Ensure sufficient resources are available to maintain rooms and respond to basic reactive maintenance
The skills/attributes that we are seeking are:- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic Maintenance Skills, Electrics, carpentry, plumbing (Lightbulbs, leaks, blockages, frames, desks, etc)
- Outgoing and fun approach to team working
- Adaptable and diligent approach to managing workload particularly during peak period
- Client focused approach
- Front of House or customer facing experience
- A good understanding of property/accommodation processes would be an advantage but are not essential
- Experience within facilities would be an advantage
- Good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
- The ability to build rapport with customers and students
