- Description
An exciting position has become available in the Fixed Gas Detection division, of a well-established Health & Safety distribution company. The role, Field Installation Engineer, will involve the installation of Gas Detection Systems and all associated cabling and accessories as required.
The position will join into an expanding team to help continue the growth of this area of the business. The role also comprises of regular maintenance/service/calibration visits as part of the on-going service offering to our customers.
This role is ideal for anyone with a background in a field service team especially someone with a strong background in electrical installation and strong technical knowledge of electronic devices (fire alarm systems, security or similar).
The Role will report to the FGD Business Development Manager and will involve the following:
- The installation and occasional servicing of Fixed Gas Detection Systems of varying sizes
- Supports the success of the Fixed Gas detection team to meet the Company goals and Targets
- Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts
- Uses initiative to identify additional opportunities with companies who are having FGD systems installed
- Working closely with other members of the Fixed Gas detection team
- Liaises effectively with all departments within the business to ensure customer requirements are met
- Contributes to the team performance by sharing and implementing Best Practise Ideas
THE PERSON
This is a hands-on role and the person appointed should have:
- Experience of working within a field engineer team is an advantage. However, a 'can do' attitude and good cultural fit is more critical than experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Previous experience of installing electronic systems

This is a full-time position and working hours are Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm and Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm. Please be aware that as this is a field based role it will require a lot of travelling and nights spent away from home.
