Information Governance Officer
EllisKnight is partnering with a leading organisation to recruit a Information Governance Officer who will be responsible for helping our client meet its obligations with regards Data Protection and the upcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation.
Our client offers flexible working with 2 Offices - Witney, Oxfordshire and Lincoln, Lincolnshire and the successful candidate would be asked to attend a week's training at either site followed by homeworking.
Key Responsibilities:- Helps establish compliance, and conformance with Data Protection/GDPR and highlight key risk areas to the Head of IT and Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO)
- Develop, Implement, and enforce a suitable and relevant Data Protection Policy and ensure it is reviewed on an annual basis.
- Develop, Implement, and enforce a suitable and relevant Data Sharing Code of Practice and ensure that third parties which the Trust deals with comply with the necessary practices and agreements held.
- Provide information and guidance on the processing of all personal data.
- Process, co-ordinate and respond to all requests for information.
- Maintain and establish a register of data owners for sets of information and educate the data owners on their responsibilities (what is data, how is it used, who has access to it). Create and maintain data flow maps as necessary. Maintain the Trust's annual notification to the Information Commissioner's Office.
- Undertake systematic Data Protection/GDPR audits in accordance with the Information Commissioners audit tool.
Qualifications:
- Professional or academic qualification to A level in an appropriate discipline
- Data protection/GDPR Practitioner
Experience:
- Previous practical experience of dealing with data protection issues in an operational environment
- Experience of developing, implementing and maintaining policies and procedures
- The ability to analyse legislative requirements and relate these to organisational practices and solutions.
- Ability to manage and deliver Projects through to successful conclusion
